Visually and Force Controlled Opening and Closing of Doors by Means of a Mobile Robot Arm
A multi-sensory discrete-continuous control concept has been developed to realize interactive basic skills for humanoid and mobile service robots. In the upper hierarchy level a discrete task control structure enables the flexible execution of primitive skill sequences. In the lower continuous level a suitable controller is chosen with control parameters adapted to the current primitive skill. ...
متن کاملAn approach to learning mobile robot navigation
This paper describes an approach to learning an indoor robot navigation task through trial-and-error. A mobile robot, equipped with visual, ultrasonic and laser sensors, learns to servo to a designated target object. In less than ten minutes of operation time, the robot is able to navigate to a marked target object in an office environment. The central learning mechanism is the explanation-base...
متن کاملMobile Robot Navigation Error Handling Using an Extended Kalman Filter
Obviously navigation is one of the most complicated issues in mobile robots. Intelligent algorithms are often used for error handling in robot navigation. This Paper deals with the problem of Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) error handling by using Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) as an Expert Algorithms. Our focus is put on the field of mobile robot navigation in the 2D environments. The main chall...

متن کاملPath Following and Velocity Optimizing for an Omnidirectional Mobile Robot
In this paper, the path following controller of an omnidirectional mobile robot (OMR) has been extended in such a way that the forward velocity has been optimized and the actuator velocity constraints have been taken into account. Both have been attained through the proposed model predictive control (MPC) framework. The forward velocity has been included into the objective function, while the a...
